Process for the landscapes. It’s pretty fun to paint backgrounds like this. The key is to break up the big shapes into separate layers. Much faster than painting everything on one layer (which is what I used to do)
Roxy just told me about what’s happening with tumblr…I’m actually really scared it’s going to get shut down. where will all the fandoms go? I need to back up my blog somehow and save all the stuff I’ve made before anything happens…I don’t know what to do 😦 I’ve been on this site for years through so many different fandoms…
for the 9 of you who messaged me about this post here are some links I just reblogged which explain and are more helpful than I could ever be
This is how I draw hands. I simplify the shape and then later I will add the necessary details. It makes it easier to get them right. But the only way to learn how to draw hands is to just keep drawing them.
In storyboards, I often don’t put too much thinking into drawing ears. I mostly draw them as shapes. The only time I really need to know the ins and outs of ear anatomy is when I draw an over-the-shoulder shot. I never wanna draw attention to it, but a poorly drawn ear WILL stick out. Other than that, you can only simplify something adequately if you know it well. Maybe I’ll do another posts later on “cartooning” ears or modifying ears.
