more tradicional and angst yay 😀

giving a little context: they’ve been living like that for a year and a half so their mental healt isn’t that good anymore, but sometimes the planets align and they are happy the same day.

It ends when Martin gets quiet and just leaves or when Chris starts crying out of impotence.

And with this, the Tortuga crew is finished 😀

yes Koki’s last name is invented. I remember the fandom giving her one but I couldn’t find it

anyway, when Gourmand is finished I’ll start with the story ^^

hope this leaves you with questions 0w0

Prepare for a new AU

The earth was desolate. Water, heat, food, those resources had become valuable as gold and oil once were. Humanity succumbed to its own greed. It created weapons, wars, it played God.

But failed.

Among all its creations, there were biological weapons. Designed to destroy their peers in a slow and painful way. They accomplished their mission, but they had horrible repercussions on the planet. Humans played with genetics and chemistry and everything that killed their own species, transformed the others.
Animals and plants mutated horribly; They were filled with a human fury. They developed the desire to kill.

As if it were punishment from heaven, all the fauna was armed against humanity. Uncontrollable beasts attacked with rage, decimating the world. There was nothing to do against them.

Today, 3 years later, the few remaining struggle to survive.

~~

I present you, Apocalipsis AU

A world where animals are horrible creatures, killing all the humans in sight, the Kratt brothers and their team try to survive, accepting the fact that the animals that they once loved want to kill them.

Now, the team:

Martin: At first, he suffered, cried himself to sleep. Why his animal friends wanted to kill him? He couldn’t understand. He was really sad until one tried to kill Chris. In that moment, Martin changed. Seeing his little brother almost dying put him in place. Now he doesn’t hesitate when it comes to killing any animal that wants to harm his family.

Chris: He accepted reality, but still tried to help his animal friends, until one of them almost kills him. He’s traumatized, and gets easily scared when he’s not near Martin. Still, still has hope, that the world will come back to what it was. Even if it’ll never happen.

Aviva: Doesn’t talk much. Tries with all her might to restore one of Tortuga’s computers. Or the motors and fly away. Or rebuild a communication device and ask for help. Or build a robot that helps them. Or something.
Anything.

Jimmy: Just… cries. A lion ripped his eyes and now he’s blind. He’s scared. He’s afraid that his friends will leave him. Now that he can’t see, his ears betray him. They make him hear things that don’t exist, but he can’t be really sure. He can’t be sure of anything anymore.

Koki: She takes care of Jimmy. She assures him that she will never leave him alone. She tells him that what he hears is not real. She hides her fears, wanting to be brave for her friends

Think about it

It was not a different day from the others. After one of their daily
adventures, they were on the roof of Tortuga, relaxing, watching the stars.

There was no need for words because both knew what the other felt. A
peace and tranquility that the dry and cold air offered them.

-Do you want something to drink? -the older one asked, getting up. The
other nodded with a slight smile.- Okay, I’ll be back.

Minutes later, he returned with a couple of drinks. He put one next to
his brother and opened the other for himself. The silence fell again.

At some point in the night Martin woke up, realizing that he was still
there. He turned to see his brother who was still awake; -Do you know how long
I was asleep?- he asked his little brother, but he didn’t answer.

~~

-Come on Chris! Another adventure awaits us! -Martin said excited
“Aviva says she found a completely new species of lizard, we have to be
the first to see it!” He shouted and ran joyfully, as always with his
brother. Both girls watched him walk away from the Tortuga HQ.

-Do you think he’ll be fine? -Koki asked.

-If someone can be fine, it’s Martin, -Aviva said.

~

Screams came from Tortuga

-You can’t understand!. -Martin shouted and cursed the two girls, who
with fear tried to maintain their position in front of such a bunch of nerves.

-If you just listen to us -Koki tried to say, but was once again
silenced by the screams of the blue boy

– I can’t understand that you are like this with Chris! No reason and so
suddenly, why?!

-You would not understand

– What I do not understand is that you treat my brother like that!

-Martin, he’s dead! –Aviva screamed finally, with tears rising in her
eyes.

That word was like a switch in him, who stopped talking and remained
static in place. He fell hard on the ground and both girls approached
carefully. It was the first time in several months that they could see him up
close. His eyes had gone dark and were decorated by dark circles; his hair was
messy and dirty, just like his clothes. He was thinner, and there were spots
and bruises on his skin.

“Martin …” said Aviva, taking him by the shoulders.
“He’s been dead almost a year. You
have to let him go.

Piensalo
